A Garden City High School student's year is built around Regents examinations, AP examinations in May, and a standard semester structure. A Chaminade student's year runs on trimesters with comprehensive examinations at the end of each one, which is a materially different preparation rhythm.
The entry point differs too. Families at the parochial schools often first come to us for entrance examination preparation years before anyone is thinking about college. Public school families more often arrive in grade ten or eleven with a subject or a score in mind.
We run Chaminade entrance and comprehensive examination preparation as its own program, separate from ordinary subject tutoring, because the format demands it. Everything else is common to both groups.

With college counseling, and earlier than for general admission. Prerequisite coursework and program-specific requirements need handling in grade eleven, and by grade twelve the transcript is largely fixed. Test preparation usually runs alongside rather than before.
